Our client is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join their team. This role requires the ability to pivot between various accounting tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and post various journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage the opening and closing of bank accounts for each property.
• Process manual expense entries and ensure transactions are properly recorded.
• Set up new vendors in Yardi and assist with vendor management.
• Review and approve AP/AR batches, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Prepare and distribute various year-end reports to support financial reporting and tax compliance.
• Assist with annual 1099 processing and ensure timely filings.
• Serve as a payroll backup, assisting with payroll processing and compliance as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property management, or a similar industry.
• Proficiency in Yardi, Microsoft Excel, and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Understanding of AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Payroll experience or familiarity with payroll processing systems is a plus.
