This position is located in the city of Sacramento .
Under the general direction of the Stakeholder Initiatives Officer in the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Division, the Workforce Diversity Specialist is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation initiatives to recruit and retain a highly qualified and diverse workforce. In close partnership with the IDEA Division leadership and in consultation with the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) executive team, the Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) (SSM I-Spec) will establish, implement, and monitor strategies to ensure DOR maintains the diverse workforce with the necessary language and cultural skills to enable the department to serve all Californians with disabilities. This includes targeted recruitment strategies, upward mobility services, and employee recognition programs that promote diversity and equity in our workforce. The position may be located at any DOR office; travel to Sacramento and throughout California may be required.
