Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced QA Manager to oversee our quality assurance programs. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with company, customer, and government procedures across all phases of quality performance. The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of food manufacturing processes, microbiology, and raw material programs to make appropriate decisions in our fast-paced environment. You'll be essential to maintaining our quality standards while building a strong department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Compliance Management: Implement QA policies and procedures to meet company, customer, and government expectations
* Audit Support: Participate in customer audits and annual SQF certification processes
* Quality Control: Conduct pre-shipment reviews, monitor CCPs, and validate studies for GMP, HACCP, and SSOP compliance
* Inspection Oversight: Direct inspection and sampling activities to ensure control over materials, facilities, and products
* Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner through skillful analysis
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records and reports of all quality control activities
* Facility Standards: Collaborate with Plant Manager and Sanitation Manager to ensure proper housekeeping
* Team Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing quality assurance team
* Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement enhancements to quality systems and procedures
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work effectively with production, operations, and management teams
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited College or University preferred
* Five plus years of quality control experience in a food manufacturing environment
* HACCP Certified (preferred)
* SQF Certified (preferred)
* Strong knowledge of food processing equipment and quality control processes
* Experience with USDA and FDA standards
* Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
* Self-starter with strategic thinking abilities and goal orientation
* Problem-solving skills with ability to develop alternative solutions
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and computer systems
Compensation & Benefits:
* Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 based on experience
