PROJECT MANAGER DESIGN

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager, Design to lead the design aspects of the high-end luxury Moncayo project in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. This role combines technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership capabilities to ensure the successful planning, execution, and delivery of design objectives. The ideal candidate will oversee the design process, collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, and ensure alignment with Moncayo’s vision for excellence in luxury development.

Key Responsibilities

Project Design and Oversight

  • Define and manage the project’s design scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with Moncayo’s luxury standards.
  • Provide technical expertise to internal and external design teams to achieve high-quality, innovative solutions.
  • Organize, track, and monitor design packages to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to project schedules.
  • Draft and issue design RFPs (Request for Proposals) and evaluate proposals to recommend vendors and consultants with the right skill sets.

Coordination and Collaboration

  • Act as the primary liaison between external consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure design objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with leasing and marketing teams to align design strategies with branding and promotional objectives.
  • Partner with building management and facilities teams to ensure design solutions meet operational requirements.
  • Conduct regular coordination meetings to facilitate real-time information sharing and resolve design challenges.

Budget and Schedule Management

  • Prepare, track, and manage project budgets to ensure compliance with financial objectives.
  • Monitor design-related costs, alerting leadership of any deviations and advising on mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, tracking progress across all design milestones and deliverables.

Construction Administration

  • Oversee construction administration to ensure design intent is maintained throughout the building process.
  • Monitor the production of construction drawings and ensure all relevant information is included for seamless implementation.

Reporting and Communication

  • Prepare and present comprehensive project updates, including progress reports and design adjustments, to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Analyze project metrics and adjust strategies to meet deadlines and objectives effectively.
  • Ensure all project documentation is complete, organized, and up-to-date.

Innovation and Quality Control

  • Utilize industry best practices, tools, and innovative approaches to deliver exceptional design outcomes.
  • Review and approve architectural, interior, and landscape designs to ensure alignment with Moncayo’s vision for luxury development.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in project and design management, preferably in high-end luxury developments.
    • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, including architects, designers, and contractors, on large-scale projects.
    • Expertise in construction administration, contract management, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional leadership and organizational abilities to manage complex, high-stakes projects.
    • Proficiency in drafting RFPs, managing budgets, and monitoring schedules.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
    • Advanced knowledge of design processes, workflows, and project management tools.
