HTI is seeking a Operations Supervisor for a brand-new multi-metal recycling startup in Augusta, GA. Aurubis is the leading provider of non-ferrous metals and one of the largest copper recyclers worldwide. What You Need: - At least 3-5 years of supervisor experience, ideally in a non-ferrous metallurgical environment.
- Proven leadership experience with demonstrated ability to work in and through teams at all levels of the workforce.
- Proven work experience in calibrating and operating equipment ideally in an international environment.
- Deep understanding of processes within analyzing metal containing materials.
What Your Role Will Look Like: The Operations Supervisorreports to the Production director and is overseeing and managing operations and personnel to ensure efficient and accurate results with focus on quality in Aurubis Richmond. This includes establishing an atmosphere of operational excellence within the team, operating various equipment to analyze samples, developing, and implementing procedures and protocols, managing resources, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, providing technical guidance and mentorship to operations staff.
The position's focus is on managing operations personnel and resources, implementing best practices in operations management, and ensuring that production results are of high quality and accuracy.
- Lead the production operators, ladle and ingot preparation operator, and waste water and off gas treatment operator, as a working team lead, disciplinary and technical employee management in the assigned area.
- Assist, guide, follow up, and advise the operators. The supervisor will give instructions and create schedules for the operators.
- Oversee production operations, including managing personnel, operations safety, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Work towards KPIs for safety and production cycle.
- Use a process control system and if necessary, basic cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Work in a cross functional team with maintenance to understand the operating processes.
- Develop and implement operations procedures and protocols to ensure quality and accuracy of results.
- Identify areas for process improvement - develop and implement plans for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of laboratory operations, also in corresponding IT-systems.
- Train staff and Aurubis employees in operations equipment and systems.
- Highly communicative with team and participate in the continuous improvement process.
The successful candidate will have proven demonstration of day-to-day operations in an operations supervisor role with focus on non-ferrous metallurgy paired with exceptional leadership skills, is committed to quality and accuracy in performing assigned tasks, used to work in shifts, and is focused on safety and environmental topics.
