Job Description: Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Behavior Technology Laboratory: Health, Performance & Resilience.
The successful candidate will join the Behavior Technology Laboratory which focuses on developing e-health technologies to disseminate evidence-based prevention and treatment efforts to various populations. This lab focuses on "whole-person health" and optimization of function, whether it be in a high-performance population (e.g., Soldiers, elite athletes) or a population with specific needs (e.g., diabetes, children). Areas of focus include body image, eating disorders, obesity, and mental performance and resilience. Populations include female athletes, U.S. Soldiers, clinic patients (obesity, diabetes, eating disorders), and individuals in the surrounding community. Studies include going out into the community delivering interventions and collecting data via technology platforms, e.g. Smartphone apps, as well as treating patients in the clinic.
The postdoctoral fellow will participate in all aspects of clinical and population science research, including staffing complex clinical cases across the obesity and eating disorder spectrums, translation of science into technology-based tools, intervention development, designing research studies, managing study execution, data management and analysis, and dissemination of study results via presentations and publications. Experience in prevention and clinical treatment of disordered eating and mental health in athletes is preferred.
Major Responsibilities - Conduct research studies on the prevention and treatment of disordered eating, eating disorders, low energy availability, mental health conditions, and REDs.
- Contribute to ongoing research efforts on performance optimization strategies via health behaviors.
- Develop content and functionality for technology-based delivery of interventions
- Assist in conducting statistical analyses of datasets.
- Prepare peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and abstracts.

Required Qualifications - PhD in nutrition, psychology, or related field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in the prevention and clinical treatment of disordered eating and mental health in athletes
- Clinical experience with athletes
