Job Summary:

The Perioperative Audit Coordinator is responsible for the auditing of Perioperative data and standards to maintain the integrity of statistical and charging data. The goal is to ensure accurate and timely posting of all Perioperative logs and charges.

Job Description:

  • Conducts routine audits and makes appropriate corrections of completed perioperative data and other patient accounting data ensuring accurate and timely posting of perioperative logs and charges.
  • Coordinates the flow of information from all perioperative areas, billing, and other designated locations to the Perioperative Business office.
  • Communicates with management regularly to ensure that the goals of the perioperative audit operations are accomplished and offer recommendations as needed.
  • Prepares audit worksheets of the data collected for use in analysis and feedback on corrections and improvements.
  • Provides written feedback using designated audit worksheets to assist each Manager in the associate’s six month and annual performance appraisals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent

Specialized Knowledge:  

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Organizational and recognition skills
  • Medical Terminology
  • PC skills using multiple systems and applications

Kind and Length of Experience:  

  • 2-3 years billing and/or auditing experience in a hospital setting.
