Job Description
Overview:
We are currently looking for experienced durability and public road test driving support in the Chelsea and Ann Arbor, MI area for multiple shifts. Testing will consist of performing runs with test vehicles to monitor the performance of vehicle features through specific failures induced in relevant systems (cameras, radars, ECU's etc.) Testing will be performed both in a proving ground and public road environment.
Core Responsibilities:
• Perform data logging duties while emphasizing safe support processes (where applicable)
• Track specific vehicle maneuvers identified by the Vehicle Test Engineer while capturing test data.
• Verify the maneuvers were conducted properly, accurate data was captured, and provide feedback comparing system performance against requirements.
• Provide a written summary to include the vehicle driven, number miles driven, hours driven, and project number supported at a minimum for each test drive (when applicable)
• Support the Vehicle Test Technician team with troubleshooting data logging, maneuver, and testing issues.
• Provide timesheets within 1 week of work performed.
• He/she will report to and receive daily guidance and work packages from the Supervisors and their staff.
Qualifications:
• Certified Chelsea Proving Grounds Experience.
• 2+ years experience with vehicle level testing.
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communications skills. The candidate must be able to clearly and effectively communicate in English
• Computer proficiency with basic computer programs including the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to safely operate cars and Light/Heavy duty trucks with trailer tow experience (preferred)
• Able to drive a manual transmission (preferred)
• Must be able to demonstrate the necessary driving skills to become certified to drive on Continental or Customer proving grounds and public highways
• Ability to read/understand electrical schematics
• Familiar with automotive hardware, such as switches, relays, power distribution, etc.
• Proficient with common hand tools, soldering equipment, and multimeters.
• Familiarity with new vehicle technology including Navigation systems, blind spot detection, active cruise control, lane departure warning, automated high beam assist, blue tooth, etc.
• Well motivated, self starter, high integrity and team player.
Shifts:
Day shifts and evening shift availability
