Main Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the protection of Birdon information system assets, customer information and data from potential and actual security threats.
In conjunction with Birdon leadership, monitor group compliance with SSA operating requirements.
Ensure that Birdon, monitors, controls, and secures documentation, information, files that relate to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) information.
Supporting Programs to ensure that ITAR information is stored and secured and supports the ongoing training and compliance for Birdon staff in managing ITAR related matters.
Oversee and implement security solutions and protocols to safeguard Birdon America Inc's information, systems, platforms, and data and those of Birdon's, customers and employees.
Identify and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities.
Implement the monitoring and audit of systems and processes such as identity and access management.
Conduct training and awareness programs for staff and stakeholders to ensure compliance with DCSA, DOD and Birdon relevant regulations and standards.
Manage, investigate, and resolve security incidents and breaches, and conduct and oversee automated and manual testing of cyber security protections across Birdon.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES Minimum 10 years' experience in Information Technology roles.
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in cyber security, information security or governance risk and compliance roles.
Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances required for the role.
An undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science (or related / relevant field).
In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, industry standards, frameworks, and best practices including NIST 800-171 (required) and 800-53, ISO 27001, ISO 27002.
Familiarity with various operating systems & cloud platforms including Linux, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Azure and AWS.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate security threats.
Excellent communication skills to effectively convey security policies and procedures to non-technical staff.
High attention to detail to ensure thorough implementation and maintenance of security measures.
Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies.
Desirable, experience in manufacturing or defense industries.
Desirable, experience in management of Facility Clearance and Security Agreement operated under DCSA guidelines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Position requires use of computer, telephones, and other office equipment, reading, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.

RELATIONSHIPS
The Cyber Security Officer will be based in New Orleans, LA, and report directly to the VP, Technology. Birdon Directors, President, and advisors may provide additional direction and duties from time to time. Your communication and direct contact with Birdon clients are an important aspect of this position.
