Get The Look: How To Get Cara Delevingne’s Slogan Jacket

Cara Delevingne and Margot Robbie stepped out in matching Skwad bombers

Cara Delevingne and Margot Robbie have formed a pretty close bond after filming Suicide Squad together, and what better way to show it than with matching custom bomber jackets? The terrible twosome, who have even inked each other (with Instagrams to prove it), stepped out after the London premiere in these satin numbers, emblazoned with 'Skwad' on the back.

Earlier in 2015, Gigi Hadid rocked a two-piece peachy pearl combo by Canadian designer Mikhael Kale, and while we might not be brave enough to try that thigh-high split, we are loving her custom #HADID biker jacket.

Whether you go designer or DIY, we’ve got three ways to make the trend work for you, no matter your style or your budget.

1. First, you need a jacket to work with. Bombers, bikers and denim jackets work best for customisation, but now that festival season’s upon us you could pimp out your anorak. Just make sure it has a large, flat surface on the back to emblazon.

2. SAVE: You can recreate this jacket with items you already have in your craft cupboard, but these DIY essentials are cheap to pick up if you don’t have them already. All you need is a dressmakers pencil, letter stencils, a scalpal and something to seal the edges of your fabric (hemming tape, clear nail varnish, whatever works). Stencil out the letters and carefully cut them out to recreate Gigi’s mesh-panelled jacket, then either leave the edges raw or hem them with that magic tape we just mentioned. DONE!

3. SPEND: If you have a little cash to spend, iron-on patches are a cheap way to customise your clothes with a huge range of styles on offer. You could pick up iron-on letters from as little as 99p on eBay, but make sure you check the size of the lettering – this trend is all about going BIG. Check out craft and DIY stores for a good range of styles, then just peel off the backing, cover with fabric, iron and wear.

4. SPLURGE: When budget is no issue, the big brands all offer a chic personalisation service that will see your initials or entire name expertly embroidered onto your favourite jacket. We're talking Burberry, Louis Vuitton and Mulberry, who won't get your name wrong, either.
